How to hit a golf ball with a driver | Golf Driving Tips

A while back I wrote an article on how to hit a golf ball with a driver at the time of writing it I had no idea that it would prove to be the most visited article I would ever write so with this in mind I thought I would expand out my Golf Driving Tips a little and give you a bit more of an insight.

I have always found that having a routine for every shot no matter what it is or where it is on the course is a good start. This is just as important when looking at how to hit a golf ball with a driver. This is the shot where the ball is struck the hardest and where the club head speed is at its maximum. So effectively this is the shot that has the potential to be the most out of control but at the same time needs you to be in total control.

A lot of people when they use the driver off the tee think that they have to slash the living daylights out of it and knock the ball out of its skin. Well as previously mentioned this isn’t the case you need to be in total control. If you are struggling with your swing then it is a good idea to slow everything down.

Getting tips and advice is a great way to improve your swing and a trip to the range is fantastic practice but if I am struggling with one club, for example the driver, then I leave the rest of my clubs at home and only take the one club with me. I know from the first 15 balls that I hit where the glitch is and after each shot I go through exactly what I did and what felt wrong. Normally after a bucket of balls all the problems have either gone or are corrected enough to work on improving in other ways.

If my bucket for the club method doesn’t work I normally invest in a half hour lesson to give my game the little boost it needs.

As long as you have your grip correct and you use the V method mentioned in the previous post you will be lined up well for a driver shot and don’t be afraid of using your club to line up your direction, if people laugh or say anything you are entitled to do what makes you feel comfortable and play well. A few holes of them in the rough and you in the middle of the fairway and they will be asking advice.

So there are just a few tips on how to hit a golf ball with a driver. To get your copy of the Golf Driving Tips you can get a copy straight to your inbox by signing up in the boxes to the right of this post.
