England’s Rose in Control at Valderrama

Justin Rose had to work hard for his Par on Valderrama on the third day but this had no impact on the four shot lead that he took through the half way point.
Steady and focused Rose discovered how tough the rough around the greens really was but he still managed to complete the round with a commanding lead. At the start of the week I spoke with some of the golfers and caddies and they told me that they thought that there would only be one player finish under par this week. It looks as though they might be right.
You have to wonder what Ernie Els is thinking at the moment as he now looks certain to lose the Order Of Merit as he chose to play in the big money competition in Asia over the Volvo Masters. The two competitions were seen as a conflict by many of the players although it was unforeseen that Els would miss the cut in that competition and miss out completely on The Order of Merit which now looks as though it will go to either Justin Rose or Padraig Harrington.
I am sure it will turn out to be an exciting last day.
